COMMUNITY SUPPORTED PARTNERSHIP
The Churubusco High School Fine Arts Department is funded entirely through the generosity of our community. Productions are not possible without the support of theater patrons and ticket purchasers. By making a contribution, you are enabling us to provide our students with unique performance experiences that will prepare them for a variety of careers and help nurture future community leaders who supportand understand the importance of the performing arts.
THEATER PATRONS
The Churubusco High School Fine Arts theater patronage fund was established in 1975. Donations to this fund help pay for sound equipment, lighting, set pieces, storage facilities, costumes, etc. Also, a percentage of the collections go into an endowment fund held by the Community Foundation of Whitley County and a scholarship is awarded to a senior Thespian each spring. When you choose to be a patron or business sponsor, your name/business will appear in our programs for the 2025-2026 theater season. All gifts are tax-deductible.

LIGHTS UP! CAMPAIGN
The Churubusco High School Fine Arts Department began a new campaign in November, 2022 called "Lights Up!" to replace and upgrade our 40-year old stage lighting and house lighting system. LED lights provide a huge advance in technology, which expand the educational experience for our student performers and technical crew and enhance each production for our audience members. A viable and active performing arts department is one of the strengths of Churubusco High School and an important part of bringing our community together.
AUGUST, 2023 UPDATE: We are THRILLED to announce that through the generous contributions from alumni, family, friends, community members, school, and several grant foundations - - our "Lights Up!" project is FULLY FUNDED as we have reached our fundraising goal of $195,000 in less than one year! THANK YOU for believing in our students and in our program! It is our desire to see our students thrive in a positive environment as they learn teamwork, creative problem-solving, dedication, and community. These skills will enhance their love for the arts for many years to come. We cannot wait to get this project started and share this upgraded space with our community!
MARCH, 2025 UPDATE: We are extremely EXCITED to announce that the lights project will FINALLY begin construction in late May, 2025! Installation is projected to take all summer - with hopes to be completed by September 1st. We cannot wait to show our students, families, schools, and community the impact the new LED lights will have in the Jason Smith Auditorium! Look for further updates on our Churubusco High School Theater Facebook page this summer!

This summer, it was exciting to see progress being made in the auditorium as the lights were installed. We cannot wait to see our students thrive in this updated space and enhance their passion for the performing arts for years to come. Thank you for believing in our students and our program! We cannot wait for you - our community - to see these lights in action at upcoming performances this year!
